NO MORE DEATH 13 When we wish someone's death, they die. David was anointed king of Israel in place of Saul the refused king of Israel. Saul had rebelled against the Lord, not carrying out His instructions to detail. God deposed him and sought David, a man willing to obey God even if it means death. Jealousy arose in Saul's heart and wanted to end David's life in misery. This made the Lord's anointed leave the city for wilderness, after all, there was no Ark of God in the city. Neither was God happily present. Nabal whose name means "fool" was one enemy David met while seeking refuge among the crags and the rocks of ages. At first, Nabal scoffed at the Lord's anointed calling him "a runaway servant", then denied him benefits for providing him confidence and security.
