The Lord is full of grace and mercy but He'll reveal Himself only to the saints. The saints are not those who sleep in the Lord or resting in peace. No, they are not dead and forgotten people. Rather, they're the ones that have been PERFECTED through suffering. There's one perfection that's reached when we conclude our works on earth, there is another, a better and measurable perfection, we can reach while life lasts, it is attained through suffering.

The Lord our God will NEVER reveal Himself to a "sinner" except to unveil his sins to him, while His book is read or heard, by the conviction of the Holy Spirit. There's nothing more important to a sinner than his close sins, his closest allies, his easily besetting sins that he might repent and be changed. So, one reason this mystery is hid for ages is sin, and because sinners are in the place of saints!
