Proverbs 13:13 Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed, but he that feareth the Commandment shall be rewarded . AKJV Another way to reading today's verse is to say, Whoso devotes himself to money shall be destroyed. This is because of what Luke 16:13 writes, " No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon" . The reason anyone would despise the word of God, maybe not to read or careful to observe what's therein is his love and devotion to money. Trust in the power of money and its ability to solve problems answering all things is actually what God calls poverty . Or say in 21st century terms, he has 666  code written on his forehead or right hand. See, the opposite of God is not the devil but money.
