REFLEXIONS - HOUSE OF GOD ADDENDUM

It's now old to say, let's go to the house of God that we may worship Him because God does not live in houses built or made with hands, the human hand. Knowing God only lives in the vessels He makes or creates also can be very enriching, bringing about the right thinking toward God - sanity and sanctity required for the worship of His holy name. We may therefore say, by implication, let us go to the house of the gods to worship Him since Ps 82:6 already declared all God's children as gods!

Vetting through the holy Bible and through its 4000 years history - writing and compilation especially after the ascension of Lord Jesus, holy gatherings of saints never exceeded houses owned by people. And together in a location such holy gatherings are called by one single name - the Church at Lagos or Abeokuta, Rev 1-3. There were no denominations or raising thoughts of personal aggrandizement of building monumental structures. Only gatherings in homes called by their location existed, because church has more to do with culture - our way of life endowed, the lands than individuals, if not 96%!

Rom 16:3-5 told us Priscilla and her husband Aquila had one of such churches where people assemble for prayer and God's word. Other instances are Col 4:15, Phm 1:12 etcetera. Very clearly, God our God has never requested or applied for an upgrade on His work from us. Church according to God, is best managed in homes. No more, no less.

The new saying would be, You have a need, I have the solution, let's meet and talk. It's more a business deal than a looking to God for help. More of appeal to a community help than staring into the skies for way out. Every church opened for service should be able to provide solutions, workable solutions to human needs. This of course involves the use of money - heavy transactions which were afore time prohibited.

Bear in mind, working on the Sabbath is desecrating and completely unacceptable. No one dares work on such hallowed days lives to ever tell the story or share the testimony.
