LUNAR SUMMONS 1 - TIMES OF OLD

TIMES OF OLD • AUD 33MINS, 10MB
Long ago God spoke in many different ways to our fathers through the prophets in visions, dreams, and even face to face, telling them little by little about his plans. Heb 1:1 TLB

Two things come to mind whenever "olden" is spoken - the good ancient pathway and the bad ancient block-way called everlasting doors. Whereas the ancient pathway as written by prophet Jeremiah saying, Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways and see and ask for the old paths, where is the good way and walk therein and ye shall find rest for your souls but they said, we will not walk therein" calls to bear the importance of foundation, the ancient block-way seems the result of a mismanaged pathway.

Psalms 24 speaks of the ancient or everlasting doors saying, "Lift up your heads O ye gates and be ye lift up ye everlasting doors and the King of glory shall come in", were once reckoned good but turned out to be blockage for all that dogmatically followed it. The degenerating tradition of "this is how we do it" held to those following its course usually lead to the reversed condition. This always, is against the culture of God which if faithfully followed, would perpetually open doors for generations to come.

Dreaming dreams, seeing visions and face-to-face revelations of prophets were the good old ways by which God spoke to His people our forefathers, but were mismanaged through the tradition of men, things held to against the prosperous culture of God. The book of Job, 33, provides us an overview of what went wrong and possibly, path to recovery:

Job 33:14-28
"For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword. He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain: So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat. His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out. Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers. If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness: Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom. His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth: He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness. He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not; He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light." KJV

Each verse of this passage through its fifteen verses spoken by Elihu Job's fourth friend beside the Three Wise men exposed the rottenness lurking in those old ways blocking increasingly knowing God. Listen to audio here.  Quite important. Until finally in verse 23, a mediator and messenger, an interpreter, one in a thousand is sought to restore us the righteous culture of God. This mediator is God's word! O yes, the word of God, Jesus the Son of God - the active creating word God spoke to Virgin Mary that became flesh, appearing in human form. Praise the Lord!
