The good news of God is all about rest, the rest of the things you don't think of. Just after God finished creating heavens and earth for Six days, He entered the Seventh day on which He tested from all His works. Of course, this didn't mean God went to sleep, after all, the enemy was there watching and waiting for an opportune time to destroy everything the Lord God had created. Oh, God never sleeps nor slumbers! God only goes into deeper work of grace, working behind scenes.
On the Sabbath day God observed moments of rest and thus invited Man whom He had created encouraging us to enter His rest. God dislikes the sweats, sweating to please Him. So in Gen 2:15 after He formed Adam and put him in the garden instructed him solemnly, TEND and KEEP this garden. But with what tools? How did God expect that Adam would care for His SPAT the garden at Eden when there was no implements or tools? Remember, it was Tubal-Cain the engineer in Gen 4:22 that later invented tools and machines to make works easier.
What was God's expectation from Adam in keeping to His words? Yes, to speak active words of creation into those garden things and make them obey! With no tools! No implements! No sweating! No jumping here or there! Just His good word! And Adam was diligent at it until the Fall of Mankind. Do you know why he actually fell, lost the active speaking words voice? Moses, disciple of the Lord when called by God from the midst of burning bush not consumed wanted to approach God with his scandal well strapped on but God warned him sternly to remove them! Firstly, it was the wonder of bush not consumed though it was on fire which caught his attention. By this God wanted to show the kind of work Moses was coming to do - not being consumed even though on fire! This typified some kind of rest. Second, there was this issue of scandal Moses was commanded to remove or never draw near God or to forget ever meeting God. By this Jehovah was showing Moses that working his own work on God's holy ground was highly prohibited, Exo 3:1-5.
Jesus the Lord appearing in flesh in Matt 11:28-30 also asked that everyone come to Him. What for? Rest!!! Let's read His holy words verbatim:
Come to me, all you people who are very weary of trying to obey all the many laws that your religious teachers tell you to obey [MET]. I will enable you to quit trying to obey all those laws. Let me help you carry those loads, just like two oxen who have a yoke on their necks [MET, DOU] help each other pull a heavy load. It will not be difficult for you to do the things that I ask you to do for me [DOU]. Because I am gentle and humble [DOU], accept what I teach about what God wants you to do. And as a result, you will quit worrying about obeying all the religious laws, and your spirits will be at peace.” T4T
In these three verses, you'll observe two kinds of rest. One is given rest. The second, found rest. Know that God gives us rest the moment we choose to come to Him, through Jesus. This initial rest though is 1% yet potent enough to rest anyone forever from all sins and from being slave to sin all our lifetime. By this rest, every activity of sin and bearing guilt of sin committed will once and for all be done with. You'll be rested from committing sins or falling in love with sins. Instead, your heart will be filled with goodness, love and joy of God's salvation. Alleluia

On the other hand, fear is good tool for keeping faith with God. If the promise of entering and benefitting form His rest will not elude anyone, such must be careful to live. Fear and trembling at God's word are never a sign of weakness. Walking circumspectly, showing deep reverential fear of God and of the Lord, speaking with grace by grace from our heart, are all great virtues we must keep handy. This everlasting good news of fearing the Lord in order to enter His rest need be adhered.
There's this reason never to abuse grace nor turn your back on grace, especially when it is readily available. The grace of God will always appear helping and teaching us to live a godly life in the midst of sins and sin lovers. Never abuse this grace, else you won't see it again for 14years. You know what that means? Living in sin for fourteen years, sinning at every whim and falling for every reason? Why not ask those who have been delivered from their sins and hear them tell you the sweetness and joy derived from living a life without sin.
