SIM 2 - I AM THE DOOR

Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber. But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.” Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them. Jesus therefore said to them again, “Most certainly, I tell you, I am the sheep’s door. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out and will find pasture. The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who doesn’t own the sheep, sees the wolf coming, leaves the sheep, and flees. The wolf snatches the sheep and scatters them. The hired hand flees because he is a hired hand and doesn’t care for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and I’m known by my own; even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd. John 10:1-16 WEB

SIM - Special Interventional Message 1 spoke about the Five Walls To Christ. And these seemingly five Walls are
1. Door
2. Window
3. Fencing
4. Floor
5. Roof
Of the five, only access through the Door is less expensive and strenuous, in fact, the easiest way to entering any fold. Why then do people prefer other means "figuratively"? That and more were looked at April 11, 2024. Get a copy its audio for a quick review

Today May 1, Labour Day, SIM 2 is being looked at. This is based on the second illustration made by Master Jesus in that passage where He affirmatively said, "I AM THE DOOR OF THE SHEEP". Today's message is ultimately directed to Leadership Strait Development - the process of becoming a leader. Such that, even if you're so blessed and endowed, there's still the need to prove yourself worthy of the endowment. Lord Jesus did, though He was a Son, born directly from Heaven above, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered, Heb 5:8. Thence, proofed that He was really the Son of God!

The first question is, HOW DID HE BECOME THE DOOR? HOW DO WE PROVE IT?
After prophet Malachi was about 400years of darkness before the gospel accounts. God opened the gospels with the message of "Kingdom of God is at hand" by John the Baptist. Meanwhile, Jesus the Son of God and John were cousins with six months apart. Happenings around both prophets - J.J came to foreplay, the limelight after a long time waiting and praying by many saints who awaited the coming of Messiah.

John started his ministry first from the wilderness while Jesus was a skilful Carpenter being also son of Joseph. God gave to John Baptism a sign that Messiah would come through this process to lead God's people. The baptism was authorized actually for repentance and remission of sins, so that, only sinners who understood their fragility and pending wrath of God came to John for dipping in Jordan. Lord Jesus was not expected in such gathering, for even John His cousin exclaimed, He's One I'm unworthy to remove His sandals. Then, Jesus appeared!

He not being a sinner went to John for baptism, Matt 3:13-17. This He did just to prove He was worthy of being called the Son of God. Jesus lowered Himself to pass through the Door of baptism in order to become the real Door of the Sheep. The second question is, AS A DOORKEEPER OR LOCK, DO YOU WILLING OPEN DOORS TO OTHERS TO PASS?
Now, John the Baptist was that good! The moment he spotted Jesus his cousin among the crowd, he released the keys of the Kingdom to Him, which in turn the Lord gave to His disciples, the little Flock of God. This is crux of the matter, anyone who fails to do likewise or withholds keys for a price has been corrupt and hopelessly useless for any good work. In a plain language, such has become a Thief and a Robber!

Lord Jesus said, "All that ever came before Me are thieves and robbers but the Sheep did not listen to them". Who was he that came before the Lord? Lucifer the morning Star! Isaiah 14:12, Ezek 28:14. He was the chief Thief and a murderer from genesis. Not he alone but also every one who aspires for the first office, coming before Jesus! Anybody that puts himself ahead of Jesus and loves himself than his neighbor is a thief and a robber!

There were a number of those who put themselves as "first" all of which became "ancient doors" against the Lord Himself. People like, Nimrod the hunter, Esau the Red, Saul the Tallest, Eliab the firstborn and Lucifer the bright Star. They all finished badly, holding to office of number One, not releasing the keys God had graciously handed to them.

Finally, these three personalities as found in the passage are quite important for our discourse
1. Good Shepherd
2. Hireling
3. Wolf
In case you don't know, these are just the kind of leaders we may have reigning in our midst. They all rose the position of leadership one way or the other.... Simple get downloaded this mp3 recording for a listen, 66mins 20mb and get all that's hid in the message.
