LUNAR SUMMONS - RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE AND JOY
This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him, and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, the name Melchizedek means “king of righteousness”; then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.” Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, resembling the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.
Hebrews 7:1-3
Lunar Summons Seventh edition x-rays life, the unending life of Melchizedek who by the interpretation of his name is King of Righteousness and by the office he was holding, King of Salem - Jerusalem. Melchizedek was an epitome of righteousness, one who lived doing right things and rightly in steps with the Creator of heaven and earth, God. This attribute though a gift from God, yet cultivated through hard work and hard waiting on Him. Melchizedek met Abraham while returning from defeat of fives kings of the East in war and blessed him.
By the way, war isn't a good thing so why would Melchizedek a man of Peace, King of Peace support a thing such as war? See, he blessed Abraham for fighting! Do you imagine that? Yet, the Bible recorded it as righteousness. Now, the war didn't start until Sodomites and allies rebelled against the reigning Chedorlaomer who had ruled them for twelve years in the thirteenth year. So war broke out
Sodomites and all of which later perished by hail stones and fire from heaven couldn't resist Chedorlaomer and his allies but fled. Unknown to them while fleeing they fell into the valley of Shittim full of bitumen, slippery floor. That was a huge defeat! Chedorlaomer rounded up all Sodomites, others and carted them off as captives including Lot, Abraham's cousin.
Gen 14:1-24 tells this story which is the fibre of our discourse, checking the righteousness of Melchizedek and how peaceful he was, more because he blessed Abraham and his 314 trained personnel for engaging Chedorlaomer in that rescue mission. Of course, Abraham who vowed never to touch any of the spoils for himself gave a tenth of it to Melchizedek. Guess Abraham was redeeming the life of his cousin Lot completely by his tithe to King of Salem. Little wonder God saw it and spared Lot and his family during the hail destruction of Sodom with Gomorrah

Alright, lastly, Romans 14:13-17 says the kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. In a way, if Melchizedek was King of Righteousness and Peace, then where is Joy their third? For every righteousness and peace ensued must come with joy. Let's see the third verse of Today's reading -
Without [any record of] father or mother, nor ancestral line, without [any record of] beginning of days (birth) nor ending of life (death), but having been made like the Son of God, he remains a priest without interruption and without successor.
O yes, that's joy!
The joy of the Lord is that everyone would find the path of righteousness of Melchizedek who lived a heavenly life on earth - without any record of father or mother, no ancestry, no day of birth nor preparation for the grave. Every human wants to think of his death and how he would be buried, yet not those who have the inheritance of the everlasting eternal life.
If you have the promise of unending eternal life of God, the life of Melchizedek is a lesson to imbibe. And if you haven't got the eternal life, why not plead with God for it right now? It works better than human life. It's everlasting! Ask God for His own life activation in you, it's already a gift for all who have the Holy Spirit....
