SEPTEMBER REFLEXIONS - HAND OF GOD
Ecclesiastes 9:1-2
For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath. In the last edition of Reflexions, the eighth, I examined with you WISDOM, the very wisdom of God from above. Intriguingly, that's the only wisdom that exists. Other kinds are no wisdom. In its passage was Wisdom described accordingly - for anyone who seeks understanding above rash decisions, anyone who finds hope for living in every situation, someone who keeps the law and lives a more righteous life than the written - constitution, etcetera. Today's Reflexion, which is the ninth edition in 2024, centres on the HAND OF GOD. The first thing to check is Job's reflection on this matter - Job 2:7-10 saying, "Shall we receive good at the hand of God and shall we not receive evil?" To Job, that's foolishness and babyish, to reject anything God has forwarded, good or bad. To him, even in pain, it's simply immature to accept only the good and not know how to manage evil as well, both streaming from God. No one saves his generation that way, dodging bad things, even generational curses. Such can never attain the heights of leadership.
Troubles are part of life - Job 14:1 says so. The biggest news is the discovery that God created the earth basically to bring troubles. That we appear in the flesh on earth alone is suffering, let alone overcoming the devil's schemes and plans. If you're still in doubt about God's purpose for creating the earth, you'll need to know Lord Jesus all over again. He didn't enjoy life as thought or presumed. He was always being followed and persecuted for living right, especially without them. Though He was rich, for our sakes He became poor. The Lord was very intentional about the life He lived.
That was a sample for those who aren't sure about why the righteous suffer. Another thing that comes from the HAND OF GOD is your wife. The Bible says she's your best reward while you live on earth. Now, to have more than her as a reward for good living is a cacophony. Maybe, you think children are included in the pack. Nope! Read Ps 127 again. Children are God's reward for keeping you alive.
